"I have received hundreds of massages from therapists all over the world, and no one matches the energy, intuition, passion and natural ability Nala has. She is my favorite Massage Therapist hands down."                                              "I love the feel of her studio. Nala is very sweet & very thorough. I came for a lymphatic massage for post surgery. I definitely felt better after."                                                    "When she was done, I felt extraordinarily relaxed & I was even standing up straighter than usual."                                                                        "I have been able to decrease my pain medicine by 90% since receiving massages on a regular basis from Nala."                                                    "Of the 20 massages that Nala has given me, no two have been exactly the same. She focuses on what needs her attention most. Whether I've got a stiff neck, am holding tension in my shoulders or just need my system balanced with a relaxing release of endorphins from some intense reflexology, she knows intuitively and goes to work on it. We feel blessed to have found her."                                            "She is very attentive to my needs and works very specifically on my problem areas. When I leave her I always go out feeling much better than when I went in! I have no problem saying that these are the BEST massages that I've ever had. That's why I keep going to Nala at Honolulu Massage Studio! The only complaint that I have is that I didn't find her earlier!! Great massages. Highly recommended!"                                                              "Nala was amazing! She knows the lymph drainage technique and spent extra time which is greatly appreciated. So happy I found her! "                                                               "Very attentive and professional, she provides what you need on an individual basis, the ambiance is so nice and cozy, very clean! Nala is amazing!"                                        "The Massage was just what I needed. Pressure was perfect, technique was superb and ambiance was amazing."                                                       "Love this place. The atmosphere is quite nice with relaxing aromas, knowledgeable therapist and a comfortable massage table. Every time I go it is a little different. It's like she can read my mind what needs work and is always trying new things."                                                    "I have had many massages but Nala addressed why I was there and delivered more than expected."                                                         "Nala provided the best massage experience to date. Very experienced and competent in a warm, professional setting. She had a sound knowledge of the anatomy."

Professional Philosophy

As a child and up to this point in my life, I have been fascinated and passionate about ancient healing traditions that have encouraged people to live in harmony with one another and with nature. My professional inspiration, Florence Nightingale, embodied this philosophy of holism, focusing on unity, wellness, and the interrelatedness of human beings, events, and the environment.

It is important for me to be mindful of my client’s well-being in every aspect. This means being fully present and mindful, establishing caring relationships, guiding and supporting them in their choices of conventional and complementary care, communicating effectively, incorporating each person’s environment and support system into his or her care, assisting them in achieving harmony in their lives, and-lastly, practicing self-care.

Massage Therapy Beginnings

My professional career as a clinical massage therapist began at Utah College of Massage Therapy, where I completed the Clinical Massage Therapy Program. Clinical massage therapists receive 1200+ hours of advanced training and education.  Clinical Massage therapists learn techniques specifically designed to help injuries heal, improve range of motion, and increase muscle function. Clinical massage is also known as medical massage.

Clinical massage therapists are different from relaxation massage therapists. Education includes medical terminology, anatomy, kinesiology and pathology, which aren't required of relaxation massage therapists. Clinical massage therapists are trained in unique massage modalities like myofascial release and trigger point therapy – which help relax connective tissues and muscles – as well as Swedish massage, sports massage, structural integration, rehabilitative stretching, and hydrotherapy.

Clinical massage therapists spend 1000+ hours in practical, clinical work and internships in various settings, including hospice, hospitals and rehab facilities and learn techniques to treat health issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, circulatory problems and sports injuries.

Massage Training & Education

Advanced massage therapy training after completing my studies at Utah College of Massage Therapy and becoming a licensed professional includes training in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, Massotherapy, Myotherapy, Geriatric Massage, Advanced Pregnancy Massage, YoMassage, Lypossage, Kobido Face Massage, Japanese Hot Stone Therapy, and Reiki.

I received my training and became a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) through Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy. Certified lymphedema therapists complete 135+ hours of education and training in Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT).  Complete Decongestive Therapy is the most successful treatment for chronic extremity lymphedema., post mastectomy lymphedema and other related conditions respond extremely well to this gentle, non-invasive, and highly effective therapy. CDT is sometimes referred to as Complete/Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy (CDP). CDT consists of manual lymph drainage, compression therapy, exercise, and skin care.

Academics & Clinical Practice

My academic background in Health & Wellness includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University with a focus on Holistic Nursing and Wound Care. I went onto expand my training and education at Maryland University of Integrative Health, where I completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Herbal Medicine and Post-Master’s Certification in Integrative Nutrition.  I have a virtual practice specializing in Detoxification Coaching using education on self-care practices, nutrition, herbs and lifestyle changes.

I was born and raised in Hawaii. After completing massage school and working in different massage therapy settings, I moved back to Hawaii to serve my community and opened my very own clinical massage & wellness practice in downtown Honolulu in 2006.

My family and I moved to beautiful Northern Utah in 2022, where I re-opened my practice as Logan Lymphatic Therapy & Massage.

Client Testimonials

Here’s what my clients are saying:

“Nala is amazing. Great communication and professionalism. Her expertise in lymph drainage is exactly what I was looking for. After several major surgeries I was desperately looking for a lymphatic massage therapist and I found Nala on google and immediately booked a 120 minute session. My 2 hour session was incredible! Nala moved so much fluid out of my body during the session and I’m still releasing fluids at home. I signed up for weekly 2 hour sessions because Nala is the BEST! Thank you Nala!” Stephanie J.
