“Nala is amazing. Great communication and professionalism. Her expertise in lymph drainage is exactly what I was looking for. After several major surgeries I was desperately looking for a lymphatic massage therapist and I found Nala on google and immediately booked a 120 minute session. My 2 hour session was incredible! Nala moved so much fluid out of my body during the session and I’m still releasing fluids at home. I signed up for weekly 2 hour sessions because Nala is the BEST! Thank you Nala!” Stephanie J.

Lymphatic Massage after Breast Explant Surgery

Client Testimonials

Here’s what my clients are saying:

How Can Lymphatic Massage Help After  Breast Explant Surgery?

Cosmetic surgeries all produce swelling to some extent because it is part of the body’s normal healing process. Lymphatic drainage massages are helpful post-surgery to support the lymphatic system in movement and flushing out wastes. The lymphatic system collects and help remove microbes, debris, bacteria, and excess fluids.

Lymphatic drainage massages are helpful because the post-surgery healing environment involves a lot of rest, this creates stagnancy, lymphatic congestion, and more inflammation. The lymphatic system can be boosted with the manual lymph drainage to help increase lymph flow, improve immune function, clear blockages, eliminate toxins and wastes, and reduce inflammation.

Shortly after explant you may notice symptoms from breast implant illness start to clear, but also the negative anesthetic and surgery effects of constipation, bloating, soreness, itching, numbness and burning as the nerves reconnect.

Lymphatic Massage helps remove the excess swelling that may be masking your final outcome. Proper recovery from cosmetic surgery can feel like a slow process, but by taking the proper steps, you can do your part to achieve the results that you want.

How Often Should I Get A Lymphatic Massage After Explant Surgery?

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage is frequently recommended by plastic surgeons during the recovery phase following cosmetic surgery This specialized form of massage is generally believed to decrease recovery time and improve results, by reducing post-surgical swelling and fibrosis (scar tissue formation).

Long suspected, breast augmentation has now been determined to cause numerous health issues. Previously unexplained health problems have been resolved with the removal, or "explant" of breast implants. MLD is a gentle technique that helps stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage the flow of lymph fluid, so the toxins such as silicon, can be filtered and processed by the lymphatic system. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is appropriate for all breast explant clients to support detoxification, swelling and fluid reduction, scar management, and recovery of breast tissue quality.

You should begin to see a certified lymphatic therapist within 1 week of your surgery to begin lymphatic massages. You should plan on receiving 1-2 lymphatic massages per week until the incisions are closed. After that, you should expect to see a lymphatic therapist every 3-4 weeks to work on clearing lymph nodes.
