“Nala is amazing. Great communication and professionalism. Her expertise in lymph drainage is exactly what I was looking for. After several major surgeries I was desperately looking for a lymphatic massage therapist and I found Nala on google and immediately booked a 120 minute session. My 2 hour session was incredible! Nala moved so much fluid out of my body during the session and I’m still releasing fluids at home. I signed up for weekly 2 hour sessions because Nala is the BEST! Thank you Nala!” Stephanie J.

Lymphatic Massage and Wound Healing

Client Testimonials

Here’s what my clients are saying:

How Can Lymphatic Massage Help With Wound Healing?

Difficulty in healing chronic wounds is often associated with regional or localized edema. Excess edema reduces that amount of nutrients that get transported to the damaged area and reduces the rate at which wastes and dead cell particles are removed from the region. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) have been found to be an effective treatment for accelerating healing of chronic wounds.

MLD increases lymphatic flow to up to 10 times normal levels during a session tapering off to normal levels after approximately 24 – 36 hours. This accelerated lymph flow reduces regional and local edema thereby increasing the rate of healing.

Lymphatic Therapy alleviates numerous conditions related to physical trauma, including swelling, pain, and lymphedema.  Lymphatic massage supports the body in clearing lymph congestion, reducing swelling and fluid retention from trauma, surgery or lymphedema, enhancing wound healing, increasing oxygen delivery to the cells, minimizing scar tissue build up. reducing fibrocystic conditions, promoting collagen fiber production, and promoting overall wellness.

The Importance of Lymphatic Health and Wound Healing

Chronic wounds are a complication of several diseases or conditions, such as diabetes, chronic venous insufficiency, poor circulation, mechanical pressure, or a weakened immune system. Recent studies have shown that the regeneration of lymphatic vessels plays an important role in wound healing.

Lymphatic Massage moves congested or stagnant lymphatic fluid that builds around surgery and incision sites. By moving this congested fluid, lymphatic massage helps to enhance the circulation and flow of congested cellular matter – often excess blood from surgeries.

Lymphatic drainage therapy also can provide relief from chronic inflammation and pre- and post-surgical applications, and can be used for cosmetic applications, such as mastoptosis, scars and traumas.

Due to the effectiveness of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) in accelerating lymph flow there are a number of health concerns that do not allow individuals to receive MLD.   If you are experiencing any of the following situations please discuss these with a therapist prior to receiving any treatment: Untreated malignant diseases, recent thrombosis, cardiac insufficiency, or renal failure.
